About us

The Swedish Armed Forces Logistics (FMLOG) is responsible for logistics support to units, schools, and centers within the Armed Forces - nationally and internationally. Within FMLOG is the Armed Forces' transport unit, which constitutes the central transport management of the Armed Forces, including functional management responsibility for transport services within the strategic and operational transport of personnel, equipment, and entire units. Transport is carried out as air transport, sea transport, road, and rail transport, both within and outside the country.

The Development and Function Department supports higher management planning with specialist knowledge in transport functions such as contracts, customs, and hazardous goods, as well as with subject area specialists in the transport modes AIR, SEA, ROAD, and RAIL. The central transport management is still in establishment and development, creating opportunities to influence, be proactive, and take significant personal responsibility in this position.

Main responsibilities

As a subject area specialist, you will find yourself in a dynamic everyday life where tasks vary and the contacts are many. Your work and the organization you are part of are foundational to ensuring the Armed Forces' and allies' needs for military mobility.

You will lead the establishment and further development of the Armed Forces' overall transport capacity within your specialist area based on given strategic directions. You will participate in preparations, development of governance and directives regarding the assurance of the Armed Forces' transport capacity. Within the transport mode AIR, this involves capacity, infrastructure, management, and technology, where you will develop governance, instructions, and other documentation within your specialist area.

You will establish and maintain national and international relations within the transport area with both authorities and industry organizations. This also includes representing the Armed Forces in international cooperation forums within your specialist area when necessary.

As a subject area specialist, you are a knowledge resource for the Armed Forces' organization and should be prepared to participate in military exercises within the framework of the combat unit at all conflict levels.

Qualifications

  • Academic degree or certification in air logistics or equivalent competence deemed relevant and equivalent by the employer
  • Several years of experience in civil logistics or supply chain management within air transport
  • Experience collaborating with authorities
  • Current and broad experience in project work
  • Good administrative skills
  • Driver's license B.

As you handle tasks related to oral and written communication in the role of Supply Chain Specialist/subject area specialist, we also see that you are analytical, structured, and communicative with a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in both Swedish and English.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Meritorious

  • Experience in the Armed Forces logistics area with a focus on transport
  • Experience in public procurement of transport services
  • Experience in international service
  • Reserve officer training
  • Completed military service or Basic Military Training (GMU).
